Leading the Way – A Year in Review
As 2013 draws to a close, let’s take a moment to reflect on how far we have come since we announced the public phase of Ensuring a Bright Future: Campaign for Clark College.
During an overcast evening in May, Clark President Robert K. Knight declared to a room of our philanthropic partners and community members that the college had embarked on the largest fundraising campaign in its history. Nearly $17 million had been raised toward a $20 million goal, he said.
“Three million dollars—that’s what we have left to raise,” said Knight. “State funding is no longer enough. As residents of this community we have a choice. We also have a responsibility for future generations.”
The response since that evening has been outstanding. Because of the community’s strong belief in Clark, we have raised an additional $1.96 million in the last eight months. In fact, in the past several weeks, the foundation has received an overwhelming response to our end-of-year fundraising efforts, culminating in hundreds of individual gifts.
Our most recent gifts include:
- $25,000 scholarship endowment gift
- $25,000 scholarship gift
- $11,500 scholarship gift
- $10,000 scholarship endowment gift
- $10,500 scholarship gift
Let’s keep the momentum going!
With $1.4 million left to go, now is the time to show your leadership. We call on you to direct your giving to:
- STEM education – science, technology, engineering and mathematics
- Excellence Fund for Teaching and Learning for staff professional development and classroom technology
- Penguin Promise scholarships
Thank you for being a part of a community that recognizes the pivotal role Clark College plays in the bright future of Southwest Washington.
