“It means so much. It is the best achievement I have ever had,” said Atanasov. “I never thought I could get this far after a knee injury in high school. This just proves that if you work hard, good things will happen.”

Clark Men’s Soccer Head Coach Biniam Afenegus said Atanasov is a role model for student athletes. “He takes care of business in class and on the field. He’s an all-around great student with a great attitude.”

Atanasov said that he chose Clark in part to follow in the footsteps of his brother Alex, who attended the college in 2006. “Clark has a great program and playing here was an opportunity to play at the college level.”

This quarter, Atansov is taking the next step in his education by attending Oregon State University, where he received an athletic scholarship.
